WOW! What a wonderful pic, so mysterious ...

Uuhhh do you remember what I told you about GettyImages?? On the website of the above pic, there's a notice about buying the pic ... so if you publish it, you violate the Copyright Law ...
I hope that Getty never scans private websites like LJ ... this could become terribly expensive ...

It's beautiful ne...

And no, the pic is from deviantart. All those pictures are directly uploaded by the owners, and they do have the option to let people blog it, or not, and this here was free to blog - only in that size though, any bigger size has a watermark. So those are safe ^ ^

Aaaah big relief *wipes sweat from forehead*
Ya know, I'm a bit "traumatized" regarding publishing pics ...

Yeah I know. And I was just wondering... Would be cool if you found out - when you take a picture that's from getty images, and alter it, change it, do they still have the rights to the picture, or not? That would be good to know.

Hmm, interesting question. But I'm 99% percent sure that you may not change the pic. In that instant, when you USE the pic, no matter how, you act illegaly.

It's the same with music: if you only take a part of some title, change it, and claim it to be your own, you can be indicted for "theft".

That's why it's called "copyright".
You may not use, nor change.

Hm, well but there's the thing that you wouldn't be allowed to play or copy sheets of Beethoven etc in music class. What people do, is alter one little note somewhere, and this way, it's legal again. It's the same with paintings, ne. As long as you change one little detail, there's no infringement of rights, see Dave's Dali paintings. That's what I'm meaning, ne...
