Yes, it's been a while since my last one.
This was written during the flight back from my vacations. I had my eyes closed, half-sleeping, half-awake, yet neither, when I suddenly woke up, with words lingering in my head. I got paper, and a pen, and started writing, gazing outside from time to time.
And yet your color is broken with old wings, those were the words I had heard. Further, there were things I could have changed for "refinement's sake", but somehow I felt I should leave this in its original state. And yet your color is broken
(21. September 2009)
Searing high with the clouds alight
trailing the shadow of a broken kite
the wind covers nicely the feathers of flight
as the silence of sorrow tastes like the night
Shades of grapefruit paint the horizon
as blue and green eyes dance in liaison
reflecting the stars as they gaze into black
inducing a trembling, soft smile to crack.
The crescent hanging over the green draws a dream
that spills down over as a silver-white stream
entangling their fingers in another night’s sleep
when one of them wakes, as the other one weeps.
Waterfalls purple under an orange glow
remind of the remnants of the song of a doe
silence started shrieking as sadness unfolds
another pair of wings with feathers of gold
Wrapping around it like the lovers they are
Love and Longing reach out for a star
that reflect in their tears as they weep and smile
over unspoken good-byes and two-thousand miles.Poem archive.
