Takarazuka . . . I'm being heavily entranced . . .

mao distorted
Just gonna do a quick post because I want to go to bed. And it's 30 minutes before I HAVE to. o-o" Am I sick? ...Yeah always x-x

We were talking about Takarzuka at college today... Opposite Noh and Kabuki, Takarazuka is ONLY played by women. Only only. Quite amazing. And the shows they do is musicals like WestSideStory, Elizabeth III, Phantom of the Opera, and so on and so on.

They brought up the erotic aspect of Takarazuka... Mmrrr oh yeah, sparks flying between women's eyes x3
Anyway. Erm. For some reason they also mentioned TokioH *urgh* at one point, but I didn't listen as soon as I heard the name XD I seem to be allergic. And just somehow 少女漫画 and 少年愛 was brought up as well... And VK. In class. While I accidently was confronted with a SIDfanpage and tons of Mao pictures in front of me that I tried to escape from with a too warm face.

Well anyway. *cough* Takarazuka here~

Phantom of the Opera ~ You are music

It's not wrong that she reminds me of Gackt, yeah? It's only mizerable XDDDDD

Mmm... We were also talking about the beauty of androginity. I mean, that's a perfect example. But hey, I loled when some of the girls in class said that when they looked for clips of Takarazuka on youtube, they were sure it were men. They couldn't believe it at first. And I went like "LOL, I guess I'd have known, no?" xD

Well I actually do see it XD Well anyway. I'm entranced. I want to keep watching. And watching. And watching. And watching. Wah. I want to see that. I mean, I want to see Kabuki, too but x3... Takarazuka *___* It's so... pretty. Wow.

Rose of Versailles - Oscar et Andre

Oy... Esperanza no? It's kinda funny to hear a choir of Japanese women shout 'ole ole' xD And Spanish women... they move differently still... Somehow... mmm... But if we take the fact that for the Japanese, dancing of woman and man together was something really off for a long time... I mean, when the first Japanese came to Europe during the Meiji era they were sort of abashed about those classical dances. Heh. [And now watch them shake it on stage x3 They adapted quickly x33 ... *thinkingofRuki'spelvicthrustyesno?*

Mmmm ohhh I really want to go to theatre again... Theatre, musical.. something like that. It's so entrancing. I love it.

Elisabeth - Prolog

Those wings! *_______* w*___*w

Omgs and Elisabeth, she's so young looking O_O I mean, she is young, but the actress seems so young, too ... And that angel... thingy... is just... w....omgs... ... Ohhhhhwow.

Here, watch

Elisabeth - Yami ga hirogaru

... I never watched Elisabeth. It's alluring. Wah.

Elisabeth - Saigo no dansu

O___O Simply. Wow.

It truly is beautiful; I was most entranced by the prologue of Elizabeth... the medly of voices was hauntingly beautiful. I don't think I need to speak much opn the subject of costumes because they're just gorgeous.
I'll definitely have to see a show when I visit Japan [whenever that is.. *sigh*] And of course, it's even more beautiful because it's all women. Kind of the opposite of visual kei in a way... the only thing that remains the same are the more-or-less elaborate costumes. Truly beautiful.

After all, I believe that true beauty should transcend gender.

It is, ne. I really loved finding those. And what could I possibly add... yeah, the voices, the costumes... the persons. All so beautiful *_*

Yeah... I definitely would LOVE to see anything close to that, any show on stage, here... it's been too long that I've been to anything the like.
Well, couldn't say it's opposite VK, because there are some girls only VKgroups too, ne ^ ^

Yes, beautiful is definitely the word.

It's definitely something one would have to see to truly appreciate.

I think the two art-forms are mostly opposite except... now there are more girls in the VK-scene. Which is great ^^ Mah, I don't feel like going in-depth into this...

*sigh* I wanted to go to see Takarazuka, but didn't have time and money when I was in Osaka:( *is envious of _kaminari_ who went to see them*

Maybe some other time

At least you've been to Osaka =__='

Souuu next time... and then with Mao hiding between all the women on stage x33
21st-Jun-2008 08:45 pm (UTC)
And no one (except us, diehard fans^^) would notice a man between all those women:DDDD
21st-Jun-2008 09:04 pm (UTC)
Meheheheh... I remember... my norwegian friend once asking me, cause I had mao as icon in msn, and we hadn't been talking for a long time... So she had no real clue about my Jrock love etc etc, of course she thought he was a woman. (... srsly...mao? oO) Anywhooo~ I guess I was overdoingtalkingabouthim cause she was like "What or who is that mao anyway?" xDDDDDDD So that's when I went like *points at icon* "THAT is mao x3"

... And after I told her that a mao is a man... and after she knew, which was a lot later, that I'm into girls too... x3... She went like "ohhh... is it because you like someone like Mao that you like girls?" .... *BUWAHAHAHAH!*...
21st-Jun-2008 09:20 pm (UTC)

That is some theory!XD

But seriously, Mao's not that girly, come on!
21st-Jun-2008 09:28 pm (UTC)
*laughs* Yeah... well XD I always have to remember that banner I saw on someone's LJ profile, having Uru as background, and then something like "If I'm ever gonna be lesbian, I'm SO gonna blame ~him~" or something XD

I KNOW O_o That's why I was laughing so damn hard I mean.. I would have understood if I'd had some leggy icon, or even Aoi but srsly... *shakes head*
